Anacharis
Anacharis (Elodea canadensis or Egeria densa)
Anacharis is an oxygenating plant that often roots to the bottom of the pond sending leaves and flowers up to the water’s surface. Because of it’s submerged root system these plants are commonly referred as deep-water aquatics. Of these plants, anacharis is an excellent oxygenator.
Each bunch contains approximately 6-8 stems of 6-12 inch plants. Plant at bottom of the pond in gravel or a clay filled potting container. Stocked at a rate of 1-2 bunches per square yard surface area of the pond, anacharis provides food for Koi and Goldfish and acts as an excellent filter for clearing green water.
