Rosey Red Minnows are a popular, light orange color variant of the fathead minnow. As with the fathead minnow, this one to three inch fish exhibits frequent reproduction. This, in combination with its bright colors and small size, makes it an ideal forage fish for young and adult fish alike.
These fish are reproductively mature at the time of stocking, and will reproduce from spring until fall, or while the water temperature is 60 degrees or warmer. Provided structure such as stacked pallets, riprap or sunken brush piles are in place, these fish may begin reproduction just days after being stocked.
