Robert P. Jones
Robert is president of the company. He attended the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University, where he studied aquaculture and biology. During the summers, he served as a fishery biologist assistant for the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources where he gained knowledge on managing large aquatic ecosystems. Robert was later selected to serve on the board of directors for the National Aquaculture Association, the American Fish Farmers Federation, and the Ohio Aquaculture Association. Robert and his family have been instrumental in developing new stocking and management programs that are followed throughout the country.
Laura Jones
Laura attended the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University where she studdied mathematical education. Laura was instrumental in starting up Jones Fish Hatchery, carrying on a family tradition of fish and lake management excellence. From the beginning, Laura has performed every imaginable job within the company, from delivering fish and loading trucks to helping with customer service. She is now the treasurer and secretary of Jones Fish Hatchery and is currently raising her children, the 4th generation of fish and lake management specialists.
Adam Hater
Adam is the general manager for our company, overseeing daily operations and ensuring excellent customer service. He joined the hatchery staff in the spring of 1998. Adam has a bachelor’s degree in natural science with a concentration in biology from the College of Mount Saint Joseph. His background includes over twenty years of fish keeping experience and over fifteen years of retail fish sales. Adam is an expert in the fields of fish disease, fish husbandry, aquatic plant control, and is one of four certified aquatic pesticide applicators on staff. His knowledge and confidence are evident when working with a novice or veteran pond owner in establishing a new fishery or solving persistent problems.
Jim Reynolds
Jim graduated from Southampton College with a bachelor’s degree in both marine and aquatic biology. After graduation, he became the hatchery manager for a Long Island–based operation specializing in striped bass and North American lobster culture. For the past thirteen years as hatchery biologist, Jim has specialized in solving aquatic vegetation and fish production problems. He is trained and licensed to apply aquatic herbicides and oversees the Lake Management Division at Jones Fish Hatcheries. Jim has resolved aquatic weed problems in Central Park, New York City, and has served on a consulting team in Egypt to help Egyptian fish farmers increase food fish production. He has also been the featured speaker at aquaculture workshops, lake management seminars, and local pond clinics. Jim’s multifaceted experiences enable him to solve a variety of pond/lake problems.
Tom Hughes
Tom graduated from Hocking College with a degree in fish management and aquaculture. While in college, Tom worked at the Lake Snowden Fish Hatchery culturing sunfish, catfish, and yellow perch. In addition to Tom's fisheries experience, he is also one of our certified pesticide applicators. As a pesticide applicator, Tom is very capable of answering all your questions regarding pond management.
Chris T. Kirk
Chris joined our company in the spring of 2001. He earned a bachelor’s degree in wildlife management and has completed all the course work toward a master’s degree in applied ecology from Eastern Kentucky University. His background in wildlife, aquatic biology and several years’ experience in fisheries and lake management, enable Chris to solve most problems you may encounter. He is trained and licensed to apply aquatic herbicides used by the Lake Management Division of Jones Fish Hatcheries.
Kim Phillips
Kim joined the hatchery staff in February 2000 as the office manager. She is responsible for tracking fish inventory levels, scheduling fish deliveries, and keeping our office running smoothly. Kim is highly involved with our customer service and retail sales. Her background in industrial and restaurant management has given her a resourcefulness she has applied to our daily operations.
Neeve Benjamin
Neeve joined the hatchery staff in the spring of 1994. She has performed many different jobs throughout the years including the scheduling of fish deliveries, tracking inventory, and assisting customers. Currently, Neeve handles much of the accounting responsibilities, where she oversees all accounts payable and receivable.
Matt Hounam
Matt graduated from Michigan State University in the fall of 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in fisheries and wildlife. His studies included limnology, wetland management, and aquatic ecosystems. In addition to Matt’s formal education, he has been trained by our service department in all aspects of aeration/fountain installation and maintenance. Matt’s diverse training enables him to offer customers excellent service and results.
Billy Senters
Billy is head of our Fountain Service Division. He is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the various fountains we sell and service. Billy is an Air Force veteran with experience in carpentry, construction and as a high-voltage electrical specialist. His background enables him to handle many problematic situations and develop resourceful solutions. Billy’s off-time activity as an intensive bass tournament fisherman provides him the ability to assess individual fishing success in client’s ponds.
David Duecker
David joined our company in the spring of 2000. After attending the University of Cincinnati, where he studied international relations, David spent the next fifteen years in the swimming pool industry. In this capacity, he managed two retail locations for the nation’s largest swimming pool supply chain. David is now head of our Aeration Systems Service Division. His many years of experience in the service industry enable him to effectively handle difficult installations and find solutions to problematic service calls.
