All fish originate from our Cincinnati, Ohio Aquaculture Facility. Most fish orders are delivered 4-5 weeks after the order has been placed. Free fish delivery is valid on live fish orders of $300.00 or more within standard delivery range.

Yellow Perch

YELLOW PERCH (Perca flavescens)

ALIAS:  Lake perch, ringed perch, American perch, raccoon perch, ring-tailed perch

IDENTIFICATION:  A golden-yellow fish with 6 to 8 vertical bands and a spiny dorsal fin with 12 to 14 spines.  

DIET:  Insects and insect larvae, snails, small fish and commercial fish food.

Walleye

WALLEYE (Sander vitreus)

ALIAS:  Walleyed pike, walleyed pickerel

IDENTIFICATION:  A slender fish with large clouded eyes, white tipped tail and innumerable sharp teeth.  They have a brownish green body on the sides and a milky white belly.  The large, glassy eye allows the walleye to see in dark waters.

Triploid Grass Carp

TRIPLOID GRASS CARP (Ctenopharyngodon idella)

ALIAS: Sterile grass carp, triploid white amur

IDENTIFICATION: Triploid grass carp are an elongated, torpedo-shaped fish with a terminal mouth and no barbels.  They are dark olive to brownish yellow in color and have large scales along the length of their body.

SMALLMOUTH BASS (Micropterus dolomieu)

ALIAS:  Bronzeback, brownie, smallie, bronze bass

IDENTIFICATION:  Similar in appearance to largemouth bass, but the lower jaw does not extend past the back part of the eye.  Though color varies from bronze to olive-green, adults have vertical bands along their body.

DIET:  Amphibians, crayfish, fish and insects.

Rosy Red Minnows

ROSY RED MINNOWS (Pimephales promelas)

ALIAS: Rosy reds, pink tuffies

IDENTIFICATION: A light-orange to pink color variation of the traditional fathead minnow that has a darkened midline running the length of its body, a small mouth and a darkened spot at the base on the dorsal fin.        

DIET: Zooplankton and phytoplankton.

RAINBOW TROUT (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

ALIAS:  Steelhead

IDENTIFICATION:  Black spots and silver body with bright pink band are indicative of the rainbow trout. At the time of stocking, trout generally weigh 1 to 2 lbs. each.

DIET:  Insects, small fish and commercial fish food.  

Redear Sunfish

REDEAR SUNFISH (Lepomis microlophus)

ALIAS: Shellcracker, stump knocker, yellow bream, cherry gill, chinquapin

IDENTIFICATION: A deep sided fish with a black ear flap rimmed in red or orange.  Specially modified teeth in the throat allow them to crack mollusk shells.
